Wow! It has certainly been a journey, but I made it!
After arriving at the Calgary airport, we found out that the systems were down, and everyone had to be checked in manually. Computers are fantastic, until they stop working! Thank God for OptionPlus, and having our own queue! This caused a two and a half hour delay for departure, because they couldn't fairly take off on time, leaving people behind who couldn't check in in time..
Flight was great, had some champagne, sat beside a lovely couple, Colleen and Phil. It was nice to have a little chat, but then also sleep!
Fast forward to London, Gatwick Airport! I arrived, and Customs didn't deem me to be suspicious, and they stamped me through. The baggage took forever... I was certain that they had placed about 20 bags on the carousel, and that they were only adding another bag every 10 minutes. Finally after an hour and a half wait, my bags finally arrived.
And that is where my adventure started... I then had to take 3 overground trains, to make my way to my final destination! First train went fine... second one, not so much. Got on the wrong train, and a kind gentleman helped me out, and steered me in the right path. Most stations are about 2 minutes apart, however on the train I had gotten on, the next stop was about 12 minutes away. Go figure! Anyways, back on track, transfer again, and final train station destination is Penge West. 4 trains, and I have finally made it to the station that will generally be my home station for the next 8 weeks! Then it was a short walk, and I arrived at my London Home!
