Hi again!
Well, we are enjoying the hot, sunny days here ~ just beautiful weather!! Great pool days :)
The photo is of an Inukshuk in the park, donated by Canadians staying here.
Some fun facts for you, in case you're interested, or even if you're not:
~ Tucson gets 350 days of sunshine annually, more than any other US city
~ Tucson is surrounded by the world's largest concentration of saguaro cacti
~ Tucson has over 700 miles of bike paths and 100 miles of shared-use paths, 100 miles of residential bike routes and 300 miles of mountain-biking trails.
So, what have we been doing? Well, I went to a "Creative Juices" evening where a company came in and led us through painting a picture using acrylic paints - let's just say that some were better than others! I think the wine definitely helped :) Malcolm was kind and said he liked mine.
We put on another slide show, of our trip last year to Britain and had over 140 people!! Got good feedback and no snoring so think they liked it.
Our friend hasn't given up on us yet with golf lessons and has even arranged for us to play a game next week ~ yikes!! I think our swings have improved and we are possibly no longer a danger to other players :) A few days ago we were at the driving range and there was a coyote asleep out in the open about a hundred yards away, took no notice of us when we came up closer.
Earlier this week a group of us got together and went in the Park's bus to an area about an hour south and did a wine-tasting tour. Hit about 6 wineries and tasted and tasted ~ even tried a $70/bottle Port! It was a fun day. The Resort provides the bus and driver for as long as we wanted at no charge ~ nice eh?
I have lucked out at the pool lately ~ was there one day when the staff came around and served wine -even to people sitting in the hot-tub! Yesterday I was reading and they came over with mango margaritas and meatballs(free!!)What a place this is :)
I am getting together with a few other women for card-making (they scrap-book) and have fun sharing ideas.
I still love glass fusion (am a "monitor" now, whoo hoo ~ just means I have to help new people and put stuff in the kiln a couple of times a week). Trying new things, some work and others spectacularly do not.
Malcolm is enjoying the "Great Decisions" discussion groups, learning a lot about attitudes and ideas of mainly Americans.
Malcolm has started a darts group here, just playing fun games and I am joining in ~ using my Dad's darts.
I am perservering with "Learn to read music" classes but finding it a brain-stretch. She is teaching a LOT of theory and assures me it will all make sense soon. Sure hope so! It is the same time as the hiking club so I have missed out on hikes but will join in as soon as these classes end.
Pickleball continues to be fun ~ we play 3 times a week plus an extra "ladies only " day for me. There are lots of people so it is great we have the 3 new courts now. We had one party (that Malcolm was put in charge of, we brought in Chinese food and had 42 people) and another one is in the works. We play mixing up beginners and experienced players so it is a fun time.
Went to see the new Star Wars movie at the theatre where you have leather recliners and are served drinks and food at your seat ~ pretty nice :) Movie was OK, lots of action and weird creatures.
Once a month a local bike store comes in and offers bike repairs and maintenance ~ very handy so I had them give my bike a once-over and they just lubed it a bit and said I am good to go. Now just have to find some spare time to go for rides!!
Tonight we're off to a Valentine's Day dance ~ I hope you all have a great Valentine's with your favourite cuddler :)
bye for now,
Elinor, Malcolm (and our brave dog who, for the last 3 days has been too terrified to get close to a dead, dried-up tiny gekko!)

dave hi from Agassiz
Lynn and Frank Sounds great. Good luck with the golf!! Remember to say fore before the ball gets to the unattended target! ! We are enjoying NZ...
Nancy Sounds like nothing but fun !!! And not a boring moment to be had. Have you gone up Mount Lemmon, the local "ski hill" ? There is even a lift at the top lol. The drive up is amazing and it's very cool to see how the vegetation changes, from dessert to forests of cacti and eventually forests of pine. Tombstone is a hoot too ! I got to be in the shoot out. Take care. Its great to see you enjoying your days. Can't wait to see my new little soap dishes !!! Nancy
Françoise Orr I am so happy to see how much enjoyment you get from your travels. Thinking of you and look forward to catching up at our April Hiking group dinner. Take care Françoise

Brenda Cofield What an amazing time you are having!! Is it possible to pack me along some time. I certianly hope that I will get a chance to spend a winter in the sunshine when/if I ever retire. I would love to hear and see the slide presentation of Britain. Maybe we could get a modified version for the hiking group. Poor Tess, she brave when you need her! What a great time you are having!! Take care, safe travels and I look forward to sseeing you on the 14th.
Kyle Wow, this sounds fantastic. Brain stretching can be great—but I'm sure it's much better when mixed with lots of relaxation :)
Barbara et al It all sounds awesome ! Seems that drinking is a requirement ( darn it anyway, lol ). The music will make sense soon....I always hated theory, but in the long run it does help. Good luck with the golf and the darts....nice to hear you're using Dad's darts :0) Poor Tess, bu if it was me I'd be upset if she was scared of spiders, that'd make two of us, lol. Love the blogs, keep 'em up !
