Today we set off bright and early (early, but not so bright) from our hostel, and were met to be taken to the floating markets. After what seemed for ever, and after the worry of me believing we had been kidnapped by some Thai men, I eventually saw a sign to say we were at the floating markets.....
We were taken to a long tail boat where we were shown all around the markets, with an old lady rowing. This poor lady managed to row us all around with a smile on her face, and did not look in the slightest bit tired.
There was so much on offer at the markets, from lovely ornaments, fruit, drink, Thai food and much much more. All the stall owners rowed along side us in their boats and the people on the side of the water tried to get our attention for us to buy things from them.
Following this we had a walk around all the other stalls and had some lovely vegetable spring rolls with a sweet sauce on.
We were then taken on a tour by an engine powered tail boat before being returned to Khaosan Road.
It is amazing to see how different cultures work and how they have such very different lives from us, but very interesting to see. I had a lovely day at the floating markets.
