So what have we been up to?
Lots and lots of walking sums it up, keeping fit, but also sampling lots of delicious food, gaining far more calories than we have walked off. But hey ho, its good to sample local food. :-)
At the weekend we went to Penang Market, which happens once a month on a Sunday. This market mainly consisted of local craft products. There was also entertainment and a special appearance by a Chinese drumming group, who played and also did a dragon dance as a celebration for the Chinese new year.
We have been to Batu Ferringhi, which is a local beach resort and had a lovely sandy beach. I went into the water (or should I say paddled......).
We also visited a clan jetty, which appears to be Chinese and made up of lots of lovely houses and shops built on a jetty, it all looked very quaint, but think I'd be to scared it would collapse whilst I slept.....
Mainly we have been out exploring the side roads and discovering hidden gems and viewing tourist attractions along the way, including more temples and a fort...........
Oh on a down side, lots of local places, instead of a standard toilet have holes which you have to squat over to pee, needless to say it takes a very steady aim to use these, but if you need you need......no further comment, what happens in Malaysia stays in Malaysia...... ;-)
