After about five hours by bus, we left George Town and safely arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. The bus was lovely and had seats similar to what a plane would have. The seats reclined and had foot rests..... The journey went quickly and there was lots of lovely scenery to see.
Kuala Lumpur is amazing. The downside is the map navigating. There are so many roads, some of which are in the map but are not named......go figure........As Kuala Lumpur is so big, the map is a vital tool.
The Concorde Hotel, where we are staying is lovely, it has an outdoor pool, which I am yet to use. The hotel is located brilliantly and is very near the Petronas Twin Towers. The towers are stunning, especially at night when lit up. We have been to the bottom of them, and are debating the bridge walk, which takes you from one tower to the other. I am scared of heights, so this could be interesting (watch this space).......
Also near the hotel is the 360 tower, we can see part of it from our room, and this is on our list of things to visit this weekend.
We were at Petaling Street today, which is located in China Town. There is a massive market here, which goes on until around ten at night. There is so much to buy, a lot of very good imitations, and lots of haggling to be done......
There was torrential rain this morning, which lasted about four hours, we used this opportunity to visit some of the massive shopping centres. One of which was Times Square, this is massive and even has a theme park within it, with a roller coaster. I was too scared to go on it though.......
Finally, the monorail. This is so handy as there is a stop by the hotel, though we walk most place it is good at night. It is very cheap and means you miss the very congested roads......It can be a tad scarey when going round corners , as you feel you are going to topple off the rail, Im sure it is safe though (hopefully).
