Hi Cath, Rich, Claire, Matthew, Stephen! It's Sunday morning & I've just caught up on some of your postcards!! I especially liked reading about the visits to Rosegreen Station, Green Island & Boodjamulla! I would have loved to have gone snorkelling with you all at Green Island. Since I last wrote things have been rather busy. Thilo & I have bought a hew house, we moved on 10 August - I NEVER want to move house again!! We have an aviary with 4 cockateels and 9 finches and a pond with about 10 goldfish - I don't know if I've seen all of them yet!! The house is light and airy and there is NO LAWN TO MOW!!! I have baked 3 cakes so far (admittedly only packet mixes, but you have to start somewhere!) and I'm going to a DIY session at Bunnings this afternoon to learn about putting on window and door locks....the Domestic Goddess has burst forth!!! Looking forward to perusing the photo album this afternoon when I get back. Thilo sends his love - he's well and starts in a new section of the department on Monday - writing policy briefs & more research work which is more up his alley. We're taking some photos of the house today so I'll try & email them through for you. Take care and keep having fun!! Lots of love, Anne and Thiloxxxxxx

Dear Stephen,
Hope the trip is going well.
news from here: Martin still loves penguins
Mr Coon hurt his back so has been away all week. Fitness was pretty boring without him. School is just the same. There is a new boy called Salarn in year 4. 4L has a new teacher for the rest of the term called Mrs Sorouf.
Hope you're having a fun time
Matthew

A belated Hi!
I was thinking of you as I was buzzing around Artarmon and wondering how your trip was going. This web site is fabulous and your postcards give a wonderful picture of your experiences. It must be good to have the time to explore each area you visit. You'll certainly be experts on where to holiday in Australia. Glad to gear how smoothly things have gone. I am so impressed that school work and diaries are steadily continuing. Having a teacher as a mother is quite something.
Artarmon Public continues it's positive influence on our children. The Father's Day band concert once again almost made me cry as the gorgeous year 4s performed beautifully in the training band. The Concert Bands are competing this weekend in a State Championship competition, amazing. Matthew is enjoing percussion and seemed to play the cymbals at the right time. The Gardening committee has grand plans afoot to landscape around the school and has a working bee this weekend.
This weekend is Soccer presentation day so we move into summer sport soon. Matthew's U10B team played a final match to determine the winner of their division. Sadly Chatswood Rangers lost to Asquith. Matthew continues tennis at Andrew Bates. The new coaches Mikey and Ben are pretty good. Matthew tells me he prefers Ben.
Road works around Lane Cove tunnel and Reserve Road are horrendous.
Love and thoughts

We are home from holidays now and back into work etc... suddenly remembered you have a web site so tonight while doing some banking and other stuff I thought I would have a peak! Good site you have. Have just had a quick look at the photos from Rosegreen and will check out the rest of the stuff you have. Bit rushed for time at the minute but I see you are in Darwin. Hope you are enjoying all of that and no doubt the weather will be getting a bit humid now. Keep on enjoying this big wide country.

Eaton Clan,
Rich, PE & I lost the Open Doubles Semi to Gordon & Greg, PE had not played for 4 Weeks and got back from snow that morning - not an ideal run-in ..

Hi Cath
Your travels just bring back so many memories. I've read the latest postcards. Darwin is just so laid back, you can imagine the big change I went through when I shifted from Darwin to Sydney. Enjoy the fantastic weather, I really love the dry. I smiled at the fact you are sending the winter clothes back - you can imagine how much shopping I had to do with my move to Sydney!!!(not that I complain about shopping though) Have fun!!

Hi folks, we certainly have settled into life on the road - I can't believe how many travellers are out "doing Australia". The grey nomads are in force but we have also come across a few families and a few nomadic workers too. Being August, Australia is flooded with Europeans and certainly in Kakadu it felt as if we were not in Australia. There are so many French here - the Aust Tourist Commission must have done a big campaign there. I enjoy reading how life is going for others, so keep it up. Thanks Kayelene for your tips, also to Liz Condon - as a result we did go to Simpsons Gap, checked out the Todd River, swam at Bitter Springs at Mataranka and went to Rainbow Valley. Keep any tips coming!! Check out the new postcards etc too. Cath

Hi Cath
Try to drop in a Mataranka and have a swim in the hot springs - well worth the experience.

I am looking at your postcards and photos, I am green with envy!!! Life at Macquarie is the same hectic, overloaded schedule that we had last semester, your calming karmic influence is sorely missed! You will have so many resources for teaching when you get back, in fact I have saved some of your photos to use down the track, I am tempted to cut and paste myself into the photos on photoshop as I doubt I will ever get to these places. It's great that you are enjoying life on the road, I am sure that many people think of going but never 'seize the day'. Everyone in Group E wishes you well with your travels. I look forward to taking study breaks and daydreaming over your photos, take good care of yourself.

Hi Cath
The Alice Springs postcard brought back many memories. When I would travel to Alice from Tennant Creek there would often be storms and the road would be flooded. It was quite funny that out in the middle of nowhere you would have to deal with the road being flooded - and then the car would be red with all that red mud! Take care with the driving - watch out for those animals on the road!
Cheers
