You trip continues to look absolutely fantastic - we are enjoying the photos. We have been on school holidays but back to school for all on Monday. We have had lots of Artarmon activities recently with the gardening bee, Yr 2 Choir concert at the Church, the Bikeathon (I am sure that Claire will remember that from last year). Mr Simmonds is retiring at the end of the year (it will be sad when he leaves).
We started renovations on Monday - they reckon it will be finished by Christmas so we are keen each day to see the progress. We are particualy excited about having a second loo (but I am sure that you would just be excited by a loo).
David has been doing well with his mountain biking. He came 17th in the State round. Next weekend we are going to Lithgo for the Nationals. Peter is also competing (but in the Masters Category he is often quite literally in a class of his own). Lisa is hoping to do her ice skating competition on the 23rd.
Best wishes and love from us all.
Mum @ Allan
Thank you Cath, Rich and children for a lovely five days in Broome with you all. I was so thrilled to see you had all managed to be in one piece after your nasty accident. Cathy, You are all so brown - your freckles have joined up so much it is as though you haven't got any! I don't like your new e-mail site and I have to say my computer doesn't either! However it really reflects the sort of terrain you hve been going through.
The Great Outdoors programme with Ernie Dingo has been doing your trip and I keep expecting you to pop up there. They gave Lawn Hill and that area a lot of time and a big wrap, just as you folk had done. My Ernie Emu had an outing at the Grange and was much admired - Sylvester goes to dinner on Friday 13th! Love Mum @allan

G'day Richard, Cath and kids. What an awsome trip you guys are having, following your journey is great, the photos and stories are fantastic. Glad to hear all are well after that darn tree jumped out in front of you and that the 4x4 can be fixed. Melissa and I and the boys are up in Whistler this weekend and Matthew and I are going mountain bike riding tomorrow. We have had a busy summer travelling in Mexico for two weeks and down the Washington and Oregan coast camping. Work related, my company is busy building a bunch of bridges in the Whistler Nordic Facility for the 2010 Winter Oympics plus lots of other interesting projects. My brother and wife just got transfered back to China, Shanghai for a 4 month stint they are still working for Kone. Last time I was in Macau was 1987 a couple of months after China was openned up to travellers, I bet its changed a lot. Even in those days people went from Hong Kong to Macau for the day to go to Casino's gambling. I guess some things never change. Looking forward to continuing to follow your circumnavigation of Australia. I'm planning a trip back to Australia for two weeks to visit my parents and go to the Indy up at Surfers Paradise next week, pity we won't get chance to catch up, but have another trip planned for next year, maybe we'll catch up then. Bye for now Chris, Melissa and the boys.

Hi everyone, I've just been looking at your pictures - they're fantastic! Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad you're all OK. So when do you find our for sure about Macau? It sounds like another great adventure, but we'd miss you.
All quiet on the home front. Nick has recently started his new job and is enjoying it. We're off to Noosa this week - rather less intrepid than the Eatons! The girls send their love to your kids. Lyn

I dunno Cath, the idea of another Eaton male in China boggles the mind!!
I'm just back from a trip to qld. Meant to get to Cooktown, but my geriatric van wasn't up to it & I only got as far a Hervey Bay. Had fun though. Now just waiting to finish off & sell the house & buy a "proper van" to do my "round the block".
Glad no one was hurt in the accident. What type of 4wd are you driving now?
Kids are good. Sal has her final PhD talk on the 13th, Ben has a tattoo, & Jem is having to dig ditches & cut down full grown willow trees for his wicked step mother in order to stay living there. I'd say it was good for him if he had been allowed to recover from injuring his back at work first!

Hi Cath, Rich and co,
Hope and bet you are having a fantastic time in Broome. I'm having a very peaceful time at home as Jeremy and Tori are in Lismore for the week. Next Monday we are going to a farmstay near Oberon for Hannah's birthday. Just saw an extremely violent film version of Macbeth- set in context of Melbourne's gang wars. Could you please let me know if the photos arrived safely? Sorry to hear about your car troubles. Enjoy yourselves. Cath, Give Rich plenty of time to go jewellery shopping-with specific instructions..I'm just about to check out your photos.
Lib.

We are currently having a fabulous time in the Kimberleys - we absolutely loved El Questro, thought the Bungles were amazing and liked Mitchell Falls. We have seen quite a few gorges - but they are different to those in the NT as you can swim in many of them (above the falls - salties are below and might like a snack!) Will update the photos when I can. Keep putting on the messages - we love to hear how everyone is getting on and hearing news from home - especially about the rain, though is it getting into the dams? Yes the kids are still continuing with a diary and school work, though not so much school work in the last few weeks as we have been on corrugated dirt roads and we do school work in the car. The kids have enjoyed the break, though it does fill up much of the time in the car and stops a lot of fighting. We will be having a few days on the beach at Cape Leveque and then a week in Broome at the beginning of the NSW school holidays - maybe we will see some Artarmon people then. Cath

Hi Eatons
I am just waiting for another class and thought a visit to your website was long overdue. You all look as if the nomadic life is second nature! Glad you have crossed into WA. Enjoy it all before it gets too hot. I loved the Whitsunday photos - such an idyllic location.
Life goes on here. The term is winding down and Paul and I are off to Byron Bay in the hols. On a different note, Jan and Neil are putting their house on the market in a couple of weeks so all is being spruced up for the sale. As far as we know so is Jan O so we will be the last to go in this little patch. (as J and M's building probably won't start till the new year it will probably be at least 12 months off!!)
We have had record rain for Sydney and today is lovely - clear blue skies and mild temps. I know it is politically incorrect to say it , but I am sick of the rain.
Keep safe and enjoy!!
God bless
Marilyn and the whole gang

Glad to read that you have arrived here, in WA, safely. Yes, lots & lots of water but the government won't approve piping the water to Perth let alone to the Eastern states. Our dams are the lowest levels in Australia & we have just had our warmest , driest winter ever. I bet the Mitchell Falls are fantastic. In about 10 days time you come into country that I have seen so I know you will enjoy it.
