I spent two nights in Wein in a fab hotelly hostel. The weather was pretty grim though unfortunately. I wandered around the historic centre, theres tonnes to see. But unfortunately the heap of museums are quite expensive for a budget traveller (and to be honest, i wasnt that fussed!)
Thus I decided to spend my valuable euro on a trip to the opera instead. So last night I went to the all impressive Vienna operahaus and spent 4euro on a classy standing ticket aka cattle class (i did pay one more euro for a better standing area) and I saw a beautiful performance of La traviata. I think I got a better deal than the sitters coz I had the performance translated into engish on a little screen in front of me.
Apart from that, Iv taken a disgracefully large number of transport rides and not paid once, woops! Today is a christian holiday in Vienna and so my train to Slovenia was filled with young families (and lidl was shut!) But the train ride was magic. Very Heidi/ sound of musicy, with snow on the mountains and sun in the sky! And now here I am by gorgeous lake bled, feeling like I might not want to leave.

Louise I had no idea Budapest was so near Vienna! One of these days I'm going to study a map of Europe and actually take it in...
