Feel a bit like a useless tourist, having learnt minimal Hungarian, which is now redundant here in Slovakia where they speak Slovak! Nonetheless, we*re getting by (sorry no apostrophe!).
I did my first interrailing this morning with my American buddies and we all set off out of cloudy Budapest to Bratislava where the weather is a gorgeous 25oC. It has a small historic centre and a heap of communist tenements across the river. We strolled around, soaking up the sights (I was soaking up the much-needed) sun.
We had a Slovakian lunch at one of the many cafes with a heap of outdoor seating. The town is gorgeous and really not busy-definitely came at the right time of year! Got a gorgeous view of the place from the castle on the hill.
Just about to hop on the train to Vienna as a loner. Should be a quick journey anyway!
