I spent yesterday in historic Split, doing a DIY walking tour. The historic centre is walled in, but felt a bit Saga tours 'R' us so I walked round the whole peninsula, which was nice and forresty. I got some lovely strawbs and cherries from the market for a little berry picnic. I saw some wierd black flying squirrel things.
I went back to the hostel and chatted to them folks there. I wandered down to the beach to eat tea, and afterwards was walking round the old bits when I ran into Lauren, my train carriage mate so I went for pivo with her and her travelling companions.
When we were walking back the tiles on the pavement were slippery from the rain, and Josh ran and slid and fell over right in the fishy water outside the fish market.
I got up early today to get the ferry to Hvar and it was pouring it down. But I met a nice guy to sit with on the boat, who I stopped talking to when the ferry motions and hangover kicked in!
Today I've had a lovely little day hiking up to the fort on the hill and walking round pretty Hvar, though it definitely has not proven itself in terms of sun. My roomates are getting the same boat tomorrow back to Split so it's gona be another early start!
