Chillin'out in Welly ! Travelling the South Island was cool as….but also pretty hardcore with soem big nighst out, so I am very tired.Didn't do any spectacular things in Queenstown (except my bungy jump), went for a nice run in the gardens on Monday, the weather was great, and still love the views at Lake Wakatipu with the Remarkables in the background. Went for an icecream and a Fergburger in the afternoon, and a drink in Altitude later on. The girls in our room tried to get me in a dress, which they couldn't find (pfew), and put heapsof make up on my eyes. It looked quite good, but the thing is'...it's just not me. And those eyes with my tshirt and jeans, hahahaha.
Went to bed early, not sure it was the icecream or the burger but I felt really sick.Oh, the night before was soooo funny. The two Swedish boys in our room entertained us for two hours. They were really drunk, and just jumping around in their boxershorts hahaha. Well, they thought I was 24, so i gave them some credit, and nothing wrong with two almost naked guys haha.
On Tuesday we drove from QT to Christchurch, not the most interesting day, and I slept through most of it. Ow, and Anne and me wrote down some suggestions for Karlyn, some more serious then others. Just a funny way to kill some time. And we bought him a lettuce, but he was not very impressed. Too green and healthy, and non smokable ;-).
Walked around in ChCh with Anne, who was staying in Christchurch to catch a flight a few days later. We had dinner and a few drinks in our hostel. Bit like Fawlty Towers, Cokers Backpackers, pretty cool place. I felt a bit sad, it's really cool to get all those messages from back home, but I was about to cry, not a great feeling. I offered to walk Anne back to her hostel, and went to bed after that.
Up to Kaikoura the next day, just a short drive, and again amazing weather. Karlyn took us to the look out and the fur seal colony. It was his birthday, and we kinda made a deal: he was going to buy us fish and chips and we would buy him a present. So we ended up having fish and chips at the beach at South Bay, watching the amazing sunset. We were all wearing partyhats, and gave Karlyn's his presents: antiwrinkle eye patches (which he immediately tried haha), his own racing team (a build your own paper race car), bubbles (bellenblaas), a computergame to play whilst driving instead of reading a newspaper whilst driving and Learner plates to put on his bus. He enjoyed his presents ans guess he had a good day. He got a birthday cake earlier on the day, and told everybody he met it was his birthday, haha.
I already contacted the girls in Wellington, and was thinking about staying in Wellington instead of going up to Auckland. The next day we took the ferry to Wellington. Our driver almost missed it because of a very grumpy woman at the Blue Bridge Ferry reception, but he made it just on time.
Perfect remedy against seasickness: take two tablets and a beer in the bar, and you'll be fine.
Karlyn hijacked the bus that was waiting for us in Welly and showed us around before dropping us off at the hostels. So we had to say goodbye again, coz I was going to stay in Wellington.
And it was great to see Iben, Noortje and Chaienne again, we're all staying in the same room. Iben showed me around town today, and I thnik I like it. Bought some Roadcode book about driving in NZ, so I can start working on those skills. Want to convert my driverslicence into a NZ one. Think I'm gonna sleep a lot, eat healthy, start exercising again (the have a great mountainbike park here) and apply for jobs again. Recover from travelling . Still haven't heard from the job in ChCh, so will contact them Monday. So detoxing in Welly for a while. Still planning to do some hikes later on, maybe do the South again in a couple of weeks but taking more time for that. And getting back into the jobhunting.
Coz I still love New Zealand, and I really want to stay here !!!!! Loads of love, miss you all, guess you all have to come over to NZ !!!!
