Our last day in Hobart - I don’t know where the time has gone but 2 weeks has passed and tomorrow we fly back to Queensland.
We went to the top of Mount Wellington this morning and were warned that it could be cold up there in spite of it being reasonably warm at sea level. Well, when we got to the top it was hard to open the car door and the wind was icy. Unfortunately Pete was in shorts. The wind was soo strong it was very hard to walk but we got to the viewing platforms and took some pictures of the most stunning views I have seen. No high rise buildings lots of water and plenty of green.
We came down from the mountain and called in to see the oldest brewery called Cascade. Amazingly we all had a coffee!! Bill then took us on a car ride of the outskirts of Hobart and showed us where his Grandma had lived and the RC Cathedral and it’s attached school. The Cathedral wasn’t any bigger than Annunciation in Chesterfield but it was very nice with some great Stained glass.
We stopped off at a bakery for a sandwich then brought the car back to our accommodation for some free parking then went for a walk around the harbour. It was here we met Bills Nephew for a beer.
Rounded the day off with a great meal at an olde worlde fish restaurant on the harbour.
Ready for the next phase of our trip now but the weather forecast isn’t looking good for next week in Brisbane with storms forecast all week unfortunately.
