So that’s it - 2 weeks and 2000km done and lots of great memories of Tassie.
Lots of trees both Eucalyptus and Pine, large herds of cattle and sheep that looked mucky. (Must be the breed but they looked as if they needed a good scrub)
Beaches with sand fit for an egg timer, blue/turquoise waters and lots of very twisty roads in the West.
We saw all varieties of weather from snow to hot sunshine and our last few days in Hobart we enjoyed very much. The people we have met both strangers and friends and relatives of Bill and Sue have been very welcoming and all ready for a good laugh.
We checked out of the apartment and had a few hours to kill before our flight so we were taken to a small village called Richmond. This laid claim to the Oldest Catholic Church and the oldest bridge in Australia. Very picturesque, the local stone is a rather nice honey colour and having no pollution it has kept its colour.
We had a coffee here and a walk around before it was time to hand in the car and fly back to Brisbane.
As we got off the plane the heat hit you like a brick. It was scorching.
Drove back to Pelican Waters and sat under the covered outdoor area for our dinner.
Unfortunately I think we are going to get rain here for the rest of our stay but hopefully not constant. Still it’s a lot warmer than Chesterfield.
