So we are currently sitting on the plane waiting to depart for Brisbane.
Yesterday was another busy day. We started by visiting The Palm and the famous Atlantis hotel. This is the one all the ads. show when promoting Dubai.
The main reception was a huge circle and it was more like a railway station than an hotel. It was rammed full of people, kids and luggage. Catherine then took us to see the aquarium in the basement which was amazing and a quick glimpse of the water park. The whole place was heaving.
She then took us out and we walked along a promenade to the next hotel which was the complete opposite with living walls and all was calm. This would be where I would prefer to stay.
Back then to the apartment for a quick lunch and then we were off on a desert safari.
This was amazing. We were off roading on the sand dunes in the Arabian Desert in a Toyota Land Cruiser. It was very exciting and we got to some very acute angles. There were 26 vehicles altogether and we had to travel in convoy. We saw gazelles and another horned beastie whose name I can’t remember just now. We stopped to see the sun set over the dunes then on to a campsite where we had a meal with wine and beer, a ride on a camel and a belly dance performance. I also had a henna on my ankle but not to impressed with it. Hope it fades in the Aussie sunshine.
About to take off now so will post this as soon as I get WiFi.
