Hi there. Spent another enjoyable day exploring this lovely town with it's laid back pace of life and great climate. The museum was a highlight with all the towns history on show including movies of the pearl diving days and the WW2 bombing of the town by the Japanese and a huge display of relics from plane parts to diving suits, quite amazing !
Deciding to go for a walk along Cable Beach we were intrigued to see a truck parked on the beach hiring out sun loungers, chairs, bumbrellas, surf boards and paddle boards which is a great idea saves carrying everything to the beach. Then we went and bought a wok so we can cook stir fry meals on our outside cooker. We then parked up on the other side of the peninsular overlooking Roebuck Bay and made up a yummy lunch then I had a nana nap while Stephanie did a crossword. Nice....Then we saw the hovercraft come back in, it takes trips to see some fossilised Dinasour footprints on rocks at low tide. We had seen some at the museum. Later on we drove to the south end of Cable Beach and drove the van down onto the beach where there were about 50 other vehicles parked up (tide out) bbq ing swimming or just enjoying the atmosphere, awesome.
Our camp neighbours here are very friendly and chatty, actually a bit too chatty, and we just about had to use out secret code word before we were able to break away back to our camp site for a nice quiet night by ourselves.
We had our own wine and cheese evening under the stars chatting where may go next, where we could end up and what we have seen. It's all too much for me to remember and it still seems like a big dream that I could suddenly wake up from!
Today Saturday saw us at the markets (before 10 am) and with the usual weather, lots of stalls, great music, fantastic atmosphere and yummy food filled in the morning just fine. We then parked up at the end of the airport runway and relaxed and enjoyed watching a few big jets take off very close above us which ruled out another nana nap. There are also lots of very big helicopters coming and going taking crews out to the gas and oil rigs far offshore.
Another visit and walk to the north end of the beach where you can get camel rides and go fishing and wait for it.........
clothes are optional ! There were a few nudies mostly oldies like us who do not look a pretty picture! enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. We then watched a wedding on the beach a fantastic setting to be married on.
Tomorrow we leave this piece of paradise and head south and plan to camp at a working cattle station at Barn Hill beside 80 mile Beach.
Catch ya soon.

Marj Blair Wow! It's a hard life but someone's got to do it. This blog will be so good for you guys to look back on later. Just got to ask Chris, what is a bumbrella? :-)
Stephanie Marj Oops spell checker on holiday. However we have worked out it must be a small umbrella with a short handle you can slide somewhere when sunbathing in the nude on your stomach to stop your derrière getting too sunburnt so you can't sit down. Can we bring one back for you??????
Marj Blair Sure can Stephanie, won't be very useful at the moment though. Won't be nude sunbathing for a month or two yet! Keep enjoying that wonderful holiday. I am sooo jealous xxx
