The journey from the airport was about an hour and only cost £11 such a bargain! The taxi man was lovely and acted as our tour guide although he didnt know much English so we just smiled, laughed and pretended to understand :) we arrived at the Rama Gardens Hotel at 10am (local time) and just WOW! Both the outside of the hotel and walking into the lobby were magnificent! (Waterfalls, gold plated centre pieces and everything!) we went straight up to our room as we forgot to mention in the last post that the heat was mind blowing!!! We arrived to 39 degrees, walked out and the humidity was so strong! (Not complaining at all just merely mentioning the detail) the room is very luxurious and the bed is very comfy as when we got in we were so exhausted we fell asleep for 3 hours! (Plus we weren't feeling too well + looks like jet lag is winning at the moment haha) we had a lovely walk around the hotel grounds, by the 2 lagoon pools which have a swim up bar and very comfy rattan sun loungers. There's also a fancy sports complex with a gym, tennis courts, squash courts, driving range, sauna, jaccuzi (why they have them in this heat I don't know!).. We came down from our nicely air conditioned room to get something refreshing to eat, so ordered some fruit with yoghurt.. Well that's what we thought but it turned out to be a milky, watery mixture with bits of fruit floating around so definitely did not refresh us, made us feel worse! (Lets say it definitely didn't agree with Jess) We are currently sitting in the lobby still with the mind blowing heat of 29 degrees at 9pm with a Thai lady singing Justin bieber.. Just a little piece of home to listen and relax to :) (ed definitely will not approve of this one haha!)
