5.30 there we were waiting at a train station for some guy called mr Lau to pick us up!! so by now every other passenger was gone and the four of us were left there (2 danish girls had come with us - more on them later).
Finally arrives only for us to be packe dinto his open back jeep to hold on till we get to his. Here we have 3 hours sleep on flat matresses no thicker than a towel o nthe floor before we eat and get on our way again!!
After brekkie were greeted by the next driver, who will be taking us 5 hours through a bendy winding mountiain roaun to the trekking huts where we can stay before the walking begins. The truck again is nice, with natural aircon provided by the fact it has no windows just a shell to sit in, with bars on the side, seats that face inwards more like benches, and a roof, at least we'll keep dry.
The journey was hard work, not least becasue it started raining on and off for the whole trip so we were repeatedly leaning arms and limbs out the side of the van frantically trying to get the sides down to stop the rain coming in, well i say we!!! One of the danish girls (super trekker - been 1000 times if you believe her stories) has very bad travel sickness!! So she sat there like a wet fish as if her limbs had been cut off!!! Although the trip was hard work it was amazing to see the jungle all around you and the pics i got were pretty awesome!!
just a good job they come with sound effects of the danish girl - kristina throwing chunks into plastic bags!! Not nice!!! Not only this but as a nurse yes a qualified NURSE you'd think she would know more about medication, rehydration after being sick etc!! but oh no- she drank pepsi or cola!!! so she become more dehydrated and not only this her sick turned black!!! just what you wanna see!!
Well we got to the camp site or what we thought was gonna be a camp site near 5 in the evening to be greeted by tree house accomodation!! it was stunning!!! Proper beds, proper showers, seperate rooms, and all ontop of a valley over the jungle!!! amazing!!! plus the people hwo lived there looking after us could cook!!!
This is where things went wrong for me - remeber the food i ate at the guest house?! - well we had ordered chicken steak and chips thinking we'll play it safe with western food. The food came and we were starving so i cut the chicken up to see it had a slight pink glow, but nothing major i though as i can handle anything!! Sarah stuck to the outside bits i just ploughed through!! mistake!!! Whilst eating at the tree house i didnt feel to good so went for an early night due to now feeling hot and cold, naseua, bad stomach cramps and not too good down the other end.......
