Well we finished our trip in Russia today after a lovely breakfast on silver whisper with a tour of the hermitage museum. This is another outlandish palace of Catherine and peter the great.
It now houses 11 million art treasures. Rooms of da Vinci, michaelangelo, rembrandts, matisse, Picasso, Monet infact all the great masters have rooms with many paintings. The Decor is extreme extravagance and much of the artifacts are amazing. Crowds were enormous and it would be very easy to get lost within the massive buildings. Photos will be up soon as the boat Internet is very slow, so need a Starbucks or maccas.
As we leave the harbour we all agree we have had a good look and expanded our view of what Russia is about.
The ship building and harbour facilities we have passed on the way out are enormous and comprehensive. This is a true powerhouse in slumber.
Wonderful hot rock meal tonite under the sun which does not set till midnight.
