Sary-Tash to Kashgar (China)
Yup it snowed! and it snowed and it snowed. What a day it turned out to be, you need to look at the pictures to get a feel I probably don't need to say anything other than we had over 40 bike drops in a single day that must be a record. I personally believe my drop should gain the award for style - I was stopped trying to negotiate a particularly slippy ice ridge the bike slid to the right so I tried to balance it by putting my right foot on a snow bank to push back - turned out it wasn't a snow bank but a 3ft deep water filled snow hole - my foot and me and the bike went straight through with me at the bottom. The Major, barely supressing a broad grin, said I went down like a felled tree; he is a farmer so I suppose he should know. Luckily for me Mark (the Yeti) was right behind so he almost single handed hauled the bike off me and in the process nearly pulled my foot - which was stuck under the bike - off my leg. Heyho! luckily no real damage other than a chewed up boot and some ice encased underwear - it took a while before I could feel certain parts of my anatomy though - no not my foot.
Who cares we're in China!!!!!!
