Ulan Ude rest day

Luckily for Kev today's a rest day so he's set about trying to get the bike fixed. Unbelievably he's managed to find an alloy welder - an alloy wheel repair company, a good tip for the future. The weld looks fine so they've replaced the engine casing, and fired it up everything looks ok. He's a lucky guy. Spent the rest of the day wandering round Ulan good spot found an Internet Café that had reasonable access and spent a couple of hours uploading pictures. Had a huge storm all afternoon that stopped the city the power went out all over so we spent several hours in the dark, it got so bad that Dave had to ride back from the garage thru 2 feet of water and all the traffic in the city stopped for several hours. Luckily the café I was in was more or less waterproof so long as they kept someone sweeping the water away from the front door, it all came to a sudden stop though when water started to leak onto the coffee machine ah well I'd had six or so already. The lads were stuck with no power so they spent the afternoon and evening in the beer tent next to the hotel, which meant that by the end of the evening they were truly bollixed.
