Ulan Ude to Vlad Day 2
On the road again the first main dirt sections today several in the region of 20 kilometres long, there are not particularly difficult although some mud and deep gravel. For the first time you get a feeling for how wild this place is when you get a view of the surroundings there is nothing there except pine forest stretching off into the distance. It's reminiscent of Canada but with a sharp edge, no RVs, no comfy hotels or cafes in fact no civilisation - I hate the place - lol. I suffer the first puncture of the trip just after a bad dirt section the front starts to weave as I slow it threatens to go into a tank slap, a touch of rear brake stops the panic and sure enough the fronts as flat as a flat thing. Turns out the tube has been nipped into crack in the tyre, looks like I've hit a rock hard enough to crack the inner surface of the tyre. Niall fixes it for me and off we go again. The campsite is a disused road builders lot covered in old tar and road fill - great!
