People are always complaining about how busy they are and how they never have the time to do the things they'd really like to do. I can say with almost certainty, no matter what you do, this complaint will always exist. The frustration remains, it's the things, the places and opinions that change. Travelling, was one of many things I'd always wanted to do but never quite saw myself pulling it off, right into the few weeks prior to actually leaving I still hadn’t managed to convince myself (undoubtedly others too). Not surprising taking into account my organisational skills. I made it though ay? “With a little help from my friends…”
Armed with ambitious intentions of mastering all manner of new skills, conquering recurring worries with a desperate hope of arriving at a new understanding of myself and the people around me, we set off, with matching backpacks. I thought what with the time and perspective travelling could provide the goals in mind would some how sort themselves out, find their feet, even stride with conviction into the confusing control centre of life.
I regret to report, it didn’t happen this way. I have new stuff I want to do, new places I want to be and a new frustration and not enough back burners. It’s not all that bad though, I sometimes treat myself to some dearly loved self-help-book-vital-life-serving-top-tips! I sit back, I account for all the things I have accomplished since last I met with this frustration and re-agree; with so much energy intent on moving forward, something’s gotta budge. I’m not doing too shabby if you ask me!
