Today was Sian's last day so we had planned to get up early and go to the lagoon before she went! Unfortunately it didn't go quite to plan and we ended up leaving quite late, which meant that after a quick stop in the supermarket for breakfast we ended up power walking across town to try and get to the South Bank area! It was pretty nice over there, just a pity I couldn't stay long though because I had arranged to meet Gavin for lunch during his lunch break!
It was really nice, sat in Anzac Square which is pretty cool and had amazing sandwiches on turkish bread haha. Afterwards I window shopped for a bit until the others got back into town and then we walked back to the hostel to see Sian off! It was a bit sad saying bye but I knew I would see her again fairly soon. Weird us splitting up after so much time together though!
After that, the two of us went to the Peterpans beside our hostel to use the Internet and try and sort ourselves out a bit - I really needed to book my NZ bus ticket and Leonie still needed a job! We ended up meeting the Danish guys from Rainbow Beach in there and arranged to meet them later as there was a free dinner in our hostel which was cool! However, the guy in Peterpans ha a bit of an attitude problem (as usual!) so after a bit of talking to him I decided he wasn't getting any of my money! Unfortunately the Travelbugs in the hostel had just closed so had to walk about 20 mins to the one in town to get it booked! Made it though and got everything sorted, which was really good!
After it was all sorted we headed back, showered etc then went for the free food which was actually quite nice - think we had burritos! Chatted there for a bit, then after waiting for everyone a little bit too long, headed for the free BBQ at Tin Billys, a bar across town. Was a bit raging as we got there about 2 minutes too late for the free food! We stayed for a bit and there was a pub quiz on (which apparently they don't have in Europe!) but I was feeling a bit sick so ended up heading home really early. Was quite nice to have an early night though! Just a good thing I'm not a fussy sleeper because some Germans were having a very noisy drinking party at pretty much the foot of my bed!
