HEI!! We have based ourselves in Beppu, a smallish town by the sea, which is just what the doctor ordered to recoup and rest our tired feet after trapsing around the huge metropolis that is hiroshima - they do love their cities here but then again, japan houses twice the population of the uk. our aim is to chillax and sun it up on the beach then visit a samurai village closeby on a day trip and (hopefully) spend as little dollar as possible due to the expense ...

Kornichiwa to all! since my last email we have been to koyoto where we saw another couple of temples before staying at the worst hostel i have ever had the displeasure of staying in! lets just say that it didnt have exactly what you would look for in a hostel whilst being in 35~40 degree heat all day i.e air con or a shower for starters! it did however have plenty of mosquitos and cockroaches and resemble a MDMF built shoe box. Right then people you will have to excuse me if there are alot of typos as it is about 3am at the moment and i have drunk a fair amount of booze tonight. So far we started in tokyo which is a pretty crazy place to see but extreamly hot and humid during august. We had two nights here before we could not handle anymore sweat and had to resort to moving on to nikko which　is north of tokyo in the mountains covered by trees. it was at least cooler here and there ...

so here we are.... we made it (somehow!). a very long haul flight but it was worth the wait as the culture here is so diverse and, quite frankly, off-the-wall! its as random as it gets. one time we saw a group of locals just literally throwing water on the floor for no apparent reason so obviously we had to snap that up. we have sampled a few of the local delicacie mainly rice and noodles but we had tail (that's beef tongue :s ) soup which was interesting lol...
