so here we are.... we made it (somehow!). a very long haul flight but it was worth the wait as the culture here is so diverse and, quite frankly, off-the-wall!
its as random as it gets. one time we saw a group of locals just literally throwing water on the floor for no apparent reason so obviously we had to snap that up.
we have sampled a few of the local delicacie mainly rice and noodles but we had tail (that's beef tongue :s ) soup which was interesting lol
on the last day we made it mega early to tokyo's world-famous fish market. a wholesome experience but we did fear for our lives due to the many mental motorised vehicles carting fish from one place to another....and they don't stop for anyone! we saw a fair few tuna being hacked up ready for the many fish stalls and restaurants and have quite a few pics of that which we plan to upload. and lastly we finally tried the sushi and wasabi which was a very different experience i have to say. im glad i got the crab handroll though as the facial expressions and disgruntled sounds from the others didn't exactly sell the raw tuna they had!
tokyo was certainly a true feast of the senses; food, fashion, randomness, nightlife, humidity and some serious chaffage! but we left at the right time as the heat and constant chaffage issues were getting a bit tedious.
so now we move on the a place in the mountains called nikko to rest our bones and tired feet and just generally recoup from all the madness and sight-seeing of tokyo
