First night in a foreign place. Everything this company does is through home-stay accommodation. So BIG language barrier. I have my own room and next door is 2 girls doing nature reservation projects. In another house there's 4 others who are all going to galapagos, but a different island to do wildlife work.
The most interesting thing we did today was a Trip to the 'middle of the earth' museum. Where we stood at 0' 0' 0' degrees on any map/gps. We watched how drained water would spin clockwise one side of the equator and anti-clockwise the other. Then when done on the equator actually there was no spin at all. Plus there's less gravity there, and it's easier to balance certain objects, like an egg (see pic). An eggceptionally eggciting eggsperiment!
Lots of boring, but necessary, orientation work was completed today too. And all 7 of us went to a bar in the evening for a few games or cards and some local beer sampling.
