Wow, what a horrendous journey! ... I left Laos at 1pm on a really hot, sweaty and cramped mini bus. This was only for a few hours until we got to vietienne, the capital. Then I got on a sleeper bus to Hanoi, which is 27 hours. Worst 27 hours of my life! ... I had to sleep on the back row next to a monk and a couple of french people. Everyone else was Asian and didn't speak a word of English. The border was a joke; it was pissing it down with rain and we had to go through customs, then walk for 10 mins to go through passport control. Was completely soaked to the bone and still had a 12 hour bus journey ahead of me. As if that wasn't bad enough, I lost my bloody bus!! .... None of the customs or passport control people spoke English so they were useless. Eventually I saw the monk and I followed him. The others that I am meeting in Hanoi went by plane, I wig I had done the same. I don't know what I am going to do for money because Calum is going to Halong bay and I am meant to meeting them there but I dont know how I meant to pay for it?! They will just have to stay in Hanoi an extra night.
I woke up yesterday morning to a text from Kevin, which I had mixed feelings about. I hadn't heard from him in over a week so I had written him off. It's not like we are together or anything but I would like to see him when I get home. Then when I got to my hostel in Hanoi, I had a Facebook message from him too :-) maybe I won't write him off just yet but at the same time, if I meet someone when I am travelling I won't hold back. I hope he feels the same?! ... I guess if it is meant to be then it will be, just have to wait and see what happens when I get home!
