So, I arrived here last night and went straight to bed cos I was very tired despite sleeping for most of the flight. I woke up this morning and set off the the main train station, where I picked up a hop on/hop off bus tour. The tour lasted around 2.5 hours of the whole city, for some reason I didn't want to get off the bus so I went around twice. I am not sure if I like KL. It is very hot and muggy, I think I found the hustle and bustle of it all a bit too much but the green belt was very nice. There was a butterfly park, an orchid garden and a bird sanctuary. Maybe next time I come back I will have the confidence to go to those places!! I do frustrate myself sometimes, I don't know what I have a fear of? Maybe people?!
I have had so many showers since I have been here, I am so sweaty all the time. GROSS! ... I am just chilling tonight as I have to be up at 3.30am to catch a flight to Chiang Mai. I am muchos excited about this! I need to go and get some water as I have a headache and also need to take Malaria tablets. Think I will go to my room after and read a book. Asia is different; I think it will take time to get used to, and also sleeping in hostels. My hostel in KL is ok, clean but basic. I think I may find this everywhere?!
I was lying in bed with my book when a chatty English girl comes in and asks if I want to go for dinner. She is only 18 and travelling on her own so I said yes even though I wasn't really hungry. It was nice to have some company and talk to someone else who is travelling alone. It's quite a daunting experience, I'm not sure what made me think it would be a good idea. I'm a young girl, travelling alone and I don't speak the language. I am lucky that a lot of people speak English. Asia is so different to anywhere I have ever been before, bit of a culture shock to be honest. I think I will be ok in a few days, I just need time to settle in. I am really excited about going to Thailand. I hope it is everything I think it will be!
