I apologise in advance if this blog entry doesn't make much sense, I went out last night so the few braincells I had left I have probably just killed off.
I arrived in Chiang Mai yesterday morning; I had a 7am flight from KL so I was up at the crack of dawn. As soon as I landed I instantly fell in love with the place, it has such a great feel to it; really relaxed and chilled out. It feels really safe (fear not, I am however still on my guard, naturally).
When I got to my hostel (which is soooo nice by the way), I was cream crackered so I went for a little kip. I meant to only fall asleep for a couple of hours to re-energise but I woke up at 3pm to a bunch of 6 guys and a girl that had just arrived and staying in my dorm. We spent the rest of the afternoon chilling in the garden drinking Chang beer and getting to know each other. We all instantly bonded, it's indescribable!
We all decided to spend the evening together so we went to get some amazing food and went to an irish pub, a reggae bar and a drum and bass bar; pretty diverse but with a bunch of 15/20 people from our hostel everyone likes different things.
After arriving back at the hostel at 3.30am(ish), I ended up going to sleep at about 5am. I saw I drunkenly decided it was a good idea to log on to facebook to find a message from Kevin which made me smile :-) ... I was too drunk to reply so waited until I was sober to reply.
Today we chilled out in the sunshine and went for a swim in a pool at a hotel around the corner. Later in the afternoon we signed up to do a cooking class which was awesome!! ... We learnt how to cook 4/5 dishes and the dude took us to the food markets to show us all the fresh ingredients and bought all the stuff we needed for our lesson. We got to eat all the food we cooked, which wasn't bad considering I got an F at school for cooking! Haha! ... I didn't manage to eat all mine so I had a doggy bag; waste not want not, as my mother taught me :-P
After the cooking lesson we wandered around the night market, which was pretty cool. I am going to head to bed in a minute as I have to be up early in the morning. I am SOOOO excited about our trip tomorrow, literally everything I want to do in Chiang Mai all in one day. The prices are a lot cheaper than I had found in my research so that's always a result. Right, time for bedbobs. Will update again when I have completed my exciting adventure tomorrow :-D
