Our second night at the Carribean side was spent in a private house/cabin close to the entrance to the national park. Honestly, I did not feel very safe but it seemed the only option since our hotel was fully booked. Another hot, humid night, checking on fan intensity, holes or badly placed mosquito nets, new sounds from outside and another early wake (5 a.m.) for all of us. Have I not mentioned that there is no airconditioning in this town? Ecological awareness they claim...pffff! We finally settled in our colonial style hotel room, after all this moving around we decide to hang out at the pool/hotel garden with Alex, Fred, Dollar the talking parrot and new arriving guests. A stroll through dowtown Cahuita for a quite authentic Italuan dinner and some tummy yummy Churros for dessert, we fell into our beds around 8 pm. Will we ever stay up longer than 8pm and sleep later than 5am?
