I am already so excited about this whole adventure. And then what arrives today...a fun new hat from my beautiful, loving and thoughtful niece! I love my new Iceland hat. Thank you!
Just finished talking to Peg and making arrangements to pick her up at LGA tomorrow night. Now it really feels like everything is starting. Peg arriving from Colorado and us spending the next few days collaborating on what each of us are planning to bring to this event. We've been talking for months but now that we will be together in NY it will make it more "real".
When we did the Dance Your Prayers in NY, Peg was the artist creating the most beautiful altars and sacred space. Her creations were the container for the wonderful openings that took place during the dances.
Reflecting on our journey.....We started dancing in 2002 with Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms community. We danced in the city every Tuesday night and went to as many weekend events as possible. We went to Omega, Kripalu and an incredible 4 days in Montreal. During those years we would always talk about how we were going to create our own version of what we were doing with the Waves/5Rhythms experience. And of course, being who I am, I started looking for houses, churchs, etc, where we could do our dances, which eventually became Dance Your Prayers. We actually found a beautfiul Baptist Church for sale in Huntington. We would go there and sit behind the church and talk about what it would be like to dance inside that church with all the stained glass reflecting the light and shadows. So much fun!! We just kept the vison alive. We imagined having a big club somewhere in Huntington, where we would offer dances everyday. Peg would have her jewlery for sale, as well as offering all the crystals and stones that we collected during our travels. We had so much fun in the dreaming of this experience. We talked about how we were going to dance around the world and help people connect through movement. All while we are traveling and dancing ourselves!
So here we are 4 days away from this dream being realized. We dreamed it, we imagined it, we continued to stay in the unknown of how it would unfold. Pure Bliss!
