Got up earlier today and beat the breakfast rush! Headed out to take the bus to the boat tour. It rained over night, so the bus seats were wet. We didn't notice until it was too late that the moisture and pollution made for VERY dirty seats. Me and Dar were wearing white....ugghh - our asses were both pretty black. Oxyclean might not even work :( Surprised that the bus company didn't clean the seats before we got on. Our hands were so black after trying to wipe off the seats that alcohol wipes wouldn't make them clean. We got an extra day on the bus tour for our dirty pants though...so not all bad. Waaay better bus tour guides today - we could actually hear and understand them, unlike yesterday.
While we were waiting for the boat, we watched a film set of Blue Bloods. Didn't see anyone famous, but evidently Donny Wahlberg was on the set somewhere. The boat tour was very good - a nice view of the city, Brooklyn bridge, and New Jersey from the water. Of course we went by Ellis Island and cruised around Lady Liberty. She is beautiful :)
Decided to walk around the financial district on Wall Street, and wandered around some neat streets, winding our way down to city hall. The city seems to be pest free, except for the huge cockroach and little mouse we noticed on the sidewalk. Hoping to see a rat before we go home.
Back to Times Square to the TKTS booth to get Broadway tickets. Lineup looks like it will take hours...but only about 40 minutes to get our tickets for "Once". Laureen and I lost Dar and Leanne - it doesn't take much to get split up in Times Square - it is a zoo!
Ate at a great pizza place called Joe's Pizzeria. It is in an old Tabernacle church, which was restored and reopened as this unique restaurant. The pizza was amazing, and wine was reasonable (which is very important)..lol
Thanks Cathy Enns for recommending Once - we all LOVED it!! Beautiful story and amazing music in a quaint little theatre.
