I have been in Phnom Penh now for 2 weeks - they tell me it is the cool season! First impressions - Cambodia is a poor country but making strides foward in the development of it's city - it is dusty, smelly, good and bad, there are so many contrasts within the same street - order and messy, rich and poor, wonderful aromas of food which is delicious and less delightful aromas. The traffic has to be seen to be believed!! there is some semblance of order apparently but when travelling on the road you wouldn't think death from traffic accidents is very high! The people are lovely very petite I feel like amazon woman in comparison! Everything runs slower and has challenges including the internet although it is very cheap it is slow and photos can take an hour to upload so I will add them if and when I can - hope you are all well and thank you for all the messages they are an oasis in the struggles of my new life x
