Salzburg! What a beautiful place! I decided to rent a bike for the day and I am very glad I did.
Biking here is fabulous. Bike lanes everywhere and it's quicker to get around on bike, plus I went on back road bike trails and it reminded me of koke'e but with a bike path. I visited the maribel garden which is where they sing do ri me etc... And I also took the bike path where they biked through.
I went a little nerd crazy when I saw the gazebo. That was cool! Apparently they only took shots of the outside because it was too small to fit a camera in the inside. They keep it closed; apparently an old women skipped around in there and fell. Nuff said. Plus, that women has probably wanted to do that for most of her life... Prance around the gazebo singing "I am sixteen going on seventeen"... Bucketlist check!
It was funny because I definitely got excited to see the gazebo and these group of tourist acted all cool like it was no big deal( probably trying not to nerd out in front of each other) and before they left one girl folded and was all smiles and all i heard was " I don't care I need to take a picture!" lol! Then they all proceeded to take pictures. I was laughing. Don't be cool, be tourist! We're not cool by default. Lol. Apparently Austrians don't even like the sound of music! They think it's cheesy! I think it's awesome pie!
I decided to visit a fortress because why not? Its perched on top a hill overlooking the city of Salzburg. I'm glad I went because the view was amazing. I took a moment and had a beer. I couldn't help myself the moment called for a beer. Stieg is apparently the famous beer of Austria. I'm guessing.
There's a kitchen in this hostel and I decide to save money and cook. It was cool because I had dinner with this Australian couple which they've been traveling for awhile and we swapped traveling/our home stories. They advised me not to go to Greece at the moment because it's a little dangerous. Good to know. They sold me on Prague , so Czech republic here I come!
Well, my first full day in Austria was a blast! I love it here. I might see if I could stay an extra day just so I can see the lakes here.
