G'day Guys,
Its been another pretty crazy last few days! We've experienced many highs and one BIG low (the cricket). On the Thursday, it was time once again to don the famous three lions shirt and find an awesome place to watch the first few hours of the Ashes. We found Federation Square (which is literally just round the corner from our Hostel). Couldn't really think of anything better than watching the Cricket outside in the sun watching the boys on a massive screen. The banter started up between us and the Aussies too. And although the Cricket didn't start to rosey for us (or end!) we still put them in their place when it comes to a good old sing song! They could only ruster up one boring song, where the Barmy Army could produce many an album. It was pretty cool just to sit back and sort of look at what I was doing. After more sightseeing, we had to rest up for another (yes another) night out. We don't always go out! So after sprucing ourselves up, and a few squirts of our favourite aftershave we joined about another 40-50 guests on the Pub Crawl. To be fair it wasn't great, just because the first few bars reminded me of our local in the Village. But after a few more drinks and a bit of dutch courage it was time to mingle and get that radar on! I did manage to make friends with a group of German Girls (they didn't look German!). You'll have to see the pictures when I get time to upload them but the boys will definately be proud!
Friday was a very very lazy day...nothing much to report at all. Apart from all three of us having the ultimate schoolboy AGAIN! We were told to visit a really long street which apparantley was something all tourists do. So after a good 30-40 minute walk (we didn't get lost this time), we ended up on the most BORING street in the world. There was nothing there a part from corner shops and the odd run down house! I bet that fella at our hostel was having a right little chuckle to himself when he told us to visit this so called wonder of a street. If we see him again...he's in trouble! lol. We did watch the cricket again too. But it seemed everytime I came in the room another wicket went down so I kept well away after that. Played a bit of cards in the evening, and I've now taught the boys how to play s**thead, so I cleaned the table with the boys at that. They were definately humming up the end!
On Saturday, Roomy was feeling under the weather so me and Milsy decided to let Abi see the sun again and so drove to St Kilda. St Kilda is suppose to be a worth while visit and it wasn't too bad but my god it was freezing when we got down there and on to the beach! It was so windy, I could literally feel the tan fading! So with that in mind, we grabbed a quick lunch in a cafe and retreated back to Abi. When we arrived back at the hostel we found a leaflet that enables you to have 2 games of Bowling for $10, 2 games of Laser Quest for $10 and an hour free on the arcardes! Awesome...it was time to be a Kid again. So there was me, Roomy, Milsy and Andy (a nice old boy from Macclesfield). First up was laser quest, let myself down big time there. It did remind me big time of younger years when me and Sean would venture into Cambridge every (and I mean every) Saturday with five pound in our pocket and always have a few games of Laser Quest....Memories! After the bowling, where yours truly won both games we headed back to the Hostel and cleaned ourselves up for some cheeky little Saturday night action. It was a really good night, we ended up getting some beers in from 7/11, playing some cards before hitting a club. The bar/club we ended up at was awesome. Many a lady and it was one of these places you could dance on the bar. A bit like Coyote Ugly lol. I'm definately becoming a complete lightweight because within 5 minutes I was up there shaking my large behind to some Pussycat Dolls 'Loosen Up Your Buttons'. Oh dear! But I did get told from a rather sublime Melbourne lass that "You are the perfect package". Thankyou...but I'm sure she must have had one too many! She must have lol.
I had one big hangover Sunday. And I'm sure I didn't drink that much! We went to play football with Andy and every time I ran my head was pounding away. But it was a good laugh playing in the park. From a distance Im sure people many have mistaken me for David Beckham (those crosses were a bit special). But I do a mean a distance! It was a very early night again as I was feeling rubbish still from the antics of saturday night.
Today we've all done a little bit of laundry...oh yes I can do laundry! We also used up that hour free on the old arcardes. Other than that just been doing the whole tourist thing. Tonight (in about an hour) we're off to meet the stars of Neighbours and take part in their Trivia Night. So I'm looking forward to that. Pictures will be taken and hopefully numbers will be exchanged lol! I've got quite a few pictures to put up so when I get time (probably in Adelaide) they'll be there. We've driving up to Adelaide tomorrow and staying with two people I know; Scott and Belinda. So I hope everyone is OK and I look forward to hearing from you all.
