Well visited the amazing set up of New Colours in a tiny village called Edayanchavdy just 5 mins from my guest house. Kumar collected me with his little daughter and we traveled throught the little villages on his motorbike to there home. Him and his wife Rena are helping the community so so much, They are building a huge water tank that will provide clean water for the village, this is a huge problem for the locales, They also have bought land where they want to have a garden and grow fruit and vegitable in order to educate the children on how to be more self suffecient. I got a tour all around there home and Kumars mother brought me hot sweet tea to drink. I saw a folder of how they starded from absolutaly nothing and now they have a lovely colourful but small building where the children can come and do there homework after school in a safe, happy and clean enviroment. They also have a few computers there for the children. I spent the evening on the roof top surrounded by about 15 children all quietly sitting busying themselves with there work. The first thing i noticed was how neat they were. There handwriting was imaculate and some of the children were only about 8. The were all smiles and very welcoming to me and asking me what all the spots were on my face :) I had such a wonderful experience there amonth these very very poor children. Some of there clothes covered in holes but there hair was beautifuly groomed. I sat with one boy while he read to me about a little chick called cluck cluck for about an hour it was an unforgetable experience just being able to sit and help when he got stuck on a word. I could go on and on but all there is to say is that i will return and i hope to go there a few times a week for the next few weeks. I also think it is such a wonderful project I hope to continue my connection with them and do some fundraising for them over the coming years. They have such great ideas to help the locals they just need the funds.
