Yesterday we did three different excursions on the NW part of Santiago.
You can watch baby sea lions nurse from a few meters away. It is soooo cute.
It seems incongruous to find penguins on the Equator, but the Galapagos penguin is endemic and the only penguin to nest entirely within the tropics. They can sprint up to 35 km/hr.
Now that we have been a week here I can honestly say the Lord has been orchestrating experiences. I asked the one in charge of all creation to send his
creatures our way. Now some may say it is coincidence but a guy on our boat took this same trip once before and he said there is no comparison. He saw one sea turtle, we have been swimming with twenty. Yesterday the guide saw two things for the very first time in her life and she lives here. You decide, but as for me and my house it is the Lord's goodness in hearing us when we call.
We actually watched another octopus/comorant match and this octopus was a little bigger and hard for the greedy bird to shake down it's gullet.
Today everyone got off the boat except our family. One Christian guy got on. So we have basically a private charter now with eight staff catering to our every need and a personal guide. We can now set the pace. When we get off on Wednesday 18 people are getting on.
Many birds are courting right now. Lots of humor in the group over these mating rituals. That's all for now.
Special note to Blair - you have to come here - an artist/photographers paradise!!
