Big Sky country!
As crossed into Montana first thing we hit was snow! Too bad it was more like rain and not sticking (well, since driving it was a good thing!), hit about 3 storms. As crossing the state - the valleys were so large could see all the different weather at one time just brewing across the state - rain and sunshine all over one valley numerous times!
First hit Silver Dollar Bar - which Aunt Linda (my dad's youngest sister) was working. Stopped in and met Abe Lincoln (pic w Steve) and looked at all the silver dollars - each little block was 85 pieces and those pieces covered the walls!
This is where dear friend Denise met my aunt years ago - her and husband took a tour of the north west and stopped in, was talking with clerk and was asked where they were from and stated Turlock. Clerk said niece was from there also - and this is how Denise met Aunt Linda! Small world...
As crossing over all the mountain ranges see that we crossed the continental divide - elevation 6293! Words can not describe the beauty. In one valley outside of Superior - noticed lakefront property with shop - $24,000.
Mind you - out in the middle of nothing but great vacation home ;)
In the middle of all the beauty was many acres of burned land. In one spot high on a ridge were two nice large homes with all the trees around them burnt. Wonder how many years it will take for the lushness to grow back? A beauty in even that landscape.
