Missouri! Armadillo's is not what I thought of when thinking of this part of the country.... but this is what we saw alot of. Of course, they were all dead along the side of the road :(. Is there a conspiracy going on between Texas & Missouri? (yes, the road had been long !)
The country side is changing and all seems lusher, no other word for it. All is very green and more trees! Along with that goes the humidity.
Only snapped a few pictures but firework stands - um, large warehouses - are all over! Missouri is known for being the best state to buy fireworks because a. there is a stand every few miles b. they sell any type of firework! Wonder how many residents have less than 10 digits?
Missouri is the birth place of a famous american. He was the world's most famous humorist of any day. During the later years of his life he ranked not only as America's chief man of letters, but likewise as her best known and best loved citizen. Any idea? .... Mark Twain!
As heading down the road, thought was getting close to St Louis because the freeways became more intense. Kept taking pictures as cities came into view as thought this must be downtown... but we would continue on and still more freeway, nicer landscape. Finally, downtown came into view! The freeway took us right by the arch and main area of downtown - all I have to say is I was impressed! I've driven all around the San Francisco Bay area and St Louis Metro area has done a better job! Granted, less population but again, impressed!
