Got to Christchurch and hired a campervan to drive to Auckland. The first day we drove through the mountains towards the west coast, stopping for the night in Arthurs Pass (way up in the mountains). It was extremely cold & had loads and loads of snow. We arrived at Franz Josef Glacier on 19th June and took a helicopter ride to see the sights. We flew over Fox Glacier, Franz Josef Glacier and Mt Cook and saw some spectacular scenery. We got landed near the top of Mt Cook and got to walk around in the snow. It was a really excellent experience.
