'Debbie and Max's Travels'
We've arrived in New Zealand and it's pretty cold and wet, its very much like winter in England. We stayed one night in a cool hostel in Christchurch called Old Country House (very cosy).
We then hired a campervan from backpackers for 17days to drive about NZ. The campers got a doublebed that turns into a table and seating area, 2 gas hobs and a grill, toilet, fridge and sink.
The first day we drove up through the mountains to cross to the West Coast. However we didn't start driving unitl 3pm so decided to stop driving when it got dark and stop at a caravan park deep in the mountains at Arthurs Pass. We saw some incredible views driving through the mountains it was quite amazing, and I was very glad Max was driving. It had snowed quite heavily in the mountains and piles of snow lined the edges of the roads! In the morning when we woke up about 3 inches of snow had settled. We waited for the ploughs and gritters before setting off to find some glaciers.
