Today we are in Pasadena where the graduation will take place later today. The photo is the view from the room balcony. We are on the 12th floor.
Yesterday we went around the Huntington Gardens near here. These are quite spectacular with the best for us being the Desert Garden with hundreds or probably thousands of different cacti. There is also an amazing Rose Garden showing the history of the rose over the last 2,000 years. Other gardens include the Chinese garden, Herb, Jungle & Palm Garden. We were there from 12 noon till 4.30 when they closed but only saw a part of it. A tiring day with Doreen in a wheelchair most of the time, (thanks to Dave for sharing the pushing), although she did push it herself some of the time. We ended up at the lily ponds low down at the bottom of the hill & got a lift back to the top in an electric buggy - wheelchair & all.
On Wednesday we went to the awards event at the Western University. Both Andrew & Kim got awards, with Andrew receiving the Dean's award & Kim receiving a Scholarship. Afterwards there was a barbecue & it was cold & windy - not what you expect from Southern California.
This afternoon is the graduation & this morning I am hoping to sort out our hire car for our trip back to the East coast.
