So we certainly made the most of the "best bar in wellington", leaving our marks on the city and it's people, although it's probably fair to say some more positive than others. After feeling surprisingly fresh on both of the mornings after our nights in the city we discovered a passion for exploring, covering pretty much the entire city of Wellington in our three days there. Visting the sports stadium and New Zealand's governement we then even decided to venture into the museum. Inspired by the culture of the city and country we lasted 45 minutes before finding a nice spot of grass and taking a well deserved nap during a spell of hot sunshine in an otherwise "wet and windy Welllington". The next day after taking the decision that we needed some air after another eventful night out, we thought to hike to the viewpoint on the highest point in Wellington. A lot higher than we expected but a well needed bit of fitness, with the bonus of passing a few places where the Lord of the Rings movies were filmed. We made it to the top to see a view of the whole city, probably just about worth the trek which also provided an excuse for a well needed burger king and a couple bottles of the local brew to see us off to sleep before our trip to Taupo in the morning which is where we are now.
