End of day 8, 31st June.
We left early to drive south of Bolotone to a Forrest where Bolage lives in his wagon called Csude. Bolage has been living in his wagon for the last 11 years as a Shepard and gypsie, moving all across Hungary to wherever he choosers. He has 2 ox's to pull the wagon, 2 cows to produce milk, and 2 dogs to keep him company. It's a very simple life he lives bathing in the river, playing his piano accordion in town for money and living off the land. He is highly intelligent though and wishes to live a simple life. I take my hat off to him. He takes me for a walk and shows me his daily routine of looking after the animals. He is currently looking after a huge farm as the owners are away in another country. He has been at this spot for about 8 months, and is dying to move on. They are due back in the next couple of weeks. He has also dug himself a hole to the springs in the ground so that he has constant drinking water. It's nice and cool and tastes fine.
For lunch we went to a country pub where I had deer and potato dumplings. My god what a meal. I desperately wanted to finish it as it was yum, but it was too big.
It was decided to stay in this hillbilly village for the night so we can see lake Bolotone on the way home tomorrow.
The only accomodation we could find was this run down crap joint that is b grade even by Hungarian standards. It has a pool which is green and you can barely see the bottom. Com thing people are swimming in it. Our room has no fly screens or air con, and we need to leave the window (only the one window in the whole apartment) open just to cool it down. The tv is about the size of a shoe box. God how I miss my big tv. Bring on the mozzies.
The bird who runs this place is running around in a Nike tennis outfit like she has just got off the court from Wibbledon, but she has no business wearing such a tight number. It's like the fatter you are the tighter your outfits need to be.
Well off to bed, let's see how many mozzie bites I get.
