We left the Marriott at 11.00 on Saturday. Par had organised for our driver for the last 2 days to collect us and take us to the airport. The journet was a lot quicker than the arrival journey and a good thing too. Although check in was very quick there was a long queue to get to security and another one for passport control but we made it through in time but with not a lot to spare. The plane to Cambodia was a 80 seater twin propellor plane and so too small to get to the stand so we were bussed out from the gate. Flight only took 50 minutes. Getting into Cambodia meant queuing for a visa ($30 each) then queuing for fingerprinting but as it was a small plane it wasn't too bad, a much larger plane from Singapore landed just after us so there were long queues behind us. Our guide Sukan was waiting with our driver and mini bus and it was only a 15 minute journey to the hotel. It looks like an old colonial building arranged around a central garden and pool but is in fact only 12 years old. But they have used reclaimed materials so the floors are a mixture of wood and Victorian type tiles. David managed tock me, Fiona and Jayne onto our balcony as were were having a cuppa and himself out of our room necessitating a rescue by reception. After some quick research we decided on a restaurant for the evening and Fiona booked it via reception. We took a tul-tuk to Square 24, very modern looking, partly open air. We had a great meal, very good service and even with 2 bottles of decent wine it came to about £20 a head. Our tuk-tuk had either returned for us or waited, there are a lot of tuk-tuks around and competition for trade must be fierce. We had nightcaps at the hotel.
