Headed off from Ayers Rock at about 9.15am after having breakfast and refuelling. Had a great drive, saw plenty of wildlife.
Decided to collect some firewood as Neil and Sharon had been to Kings Creek Station previously and knew that fires were permitted, but fireewood had to be collected outside of the station property.
About 30 km short of Kings Crrek Station we spotted some dead trees so we pulled off the road and used our drag chain to pull them over. We then set about loading them onto the top of Neils camper trailer.
Neil noticed that his hazard lights were stuck on (not flashing) and went to the car to have a look and found that there was a smell of burning electrical wires. Out with the fire extinguisher just in case. the culprit was a failed flasher can under the dash which as stuck on and overheated.
Finished loading up the wood and set off to Kings Creek Station. Arrived and setup in 2 drive through spots under some shady trees. Fantastic spot (have a look on the map in hybrid mode).
Decided to have some of the local food for lunch, and as Kings Creek Station is a working cattle and camel station, Terry and Tanya had the massive camel burgers, while Neil, Sharon and the firls had the massive beef burgers. Absolutely fantastic.
Back to the campsite for a lazy afternoon of absolutely nothing except a few beers and wines.
Decided to have a platter of nibbles for dinner which was great in a fantastic campsite.
Joanna then cooked pancakes for dessert which was fantastic.
