Dave's Travels
Hi everyone
Thought I'd fill you in on what's been quite a busy week or so! Went from Bangkok to Ko Pha Ngan, an Island 40 km off the East of Thailand, took about 10 hours by bus an then another 4 by ferry - not very fun! Spent six nights in a little bungalow by the beach, with only a net as protection from the insects. Needless to say I was tea for just about every mosquito in Thailand for a few nights! Hired out a moped to explore the island as it's only 5miles round, this was fun although a little frightening as I didn;t really know what I was doing. Scared Gemma a lot! Also had a spider the size of a dinner plate invade our bungalow in the night, not nice.
After that incident Gemma insisted we move on so we went over the sea to Ko Samui a larger and more tourist friendly island nearby - i.e. it had more than one shop! Stayed there a couple of nights, spent most of the time relaxing on the beach, then set off for Krabi on the West coast of Thailand.
After a six hour bus journey we ended up in a place called Ao Nang, near Krabi and spent the next day snorkelling and kayaking round the islands. Saw some cool fish and an lagoon. Then we got the boat to Ko Phi Phi, where The BEach was filmed and have spent the last couple of days snorkelling and relaxing (again!). We are heading to Georgetown in Malayasia tomorrow as we start to head toward Singapore!
Anyway am off to have a bit of scran and a milkshake
Take care
Dave
