Hi Everyone
I've finally arrived in Melbourne after a tiring few weeks driving. We handed Mick Jagger in at Sydney last Monday and flew to Melbourne as it was a lot quicker and just as cheap as getting the bus the 900 kms to Australia's second largest city.
Along our travels we went to Brisbane, which was really nice, although not…
After slogging away at Norwich Union for 8 months I have finally saved up enough money to broaden my horizons!! With Gemma in tow I am departing for the Far East on April 10th and, over the course of 5 months, aim to cover the continents of Asia Minor, Australasia and any other territory which gets in my way. I will keep you updated on my progress from the journal and picture gallery, which I will endeavour to update as regularly as possible.

Hiya Karin
Sorry about not updating the journal, I need to but I'm too lazy at the moment, no energy because of the World Cup! Me and Gemma are in Auckland at the moment. I've been winding her up as I've been getting up at all hours to watch the world cup, although that finished this morning so I can catch up on some beauty sleep!! Nice to hear you were flying the flag for england - even though we were rubbish. I got up at half two to watch them lose on penalties!! Nice to hear your enjoying Broadland - we knew it would be better. Just a quick drive round the bypass!!
I'm arriving back into England on the 25th July, after a monster 25hour flight. We're getting the plane to Fiji on Wednesday and spending a couple of weeks on the beach there - got to top up the old tan. Nice to hear the weather's good - it's bloomin freezing here, about 10 degrees most days!!
Anyway must dash
Dave

Nice to hear about your travels, like the picture of you and the mick jagger van, you look suitably proud. Shame, the Arsenal game was a low, and i think i'd have done better to see it on my own as i was rather irritable for the next few hours. Bring on the world cup i guess, shame i can't be watching the games with you, but i'll raise a beer to you none the less. So you visited the place they filmed the beach huh, any sign of Virginie Ledoyen? No seriously i bet the natural beauty out there is amazing, and only really apreciated sitting on the beach watching the sunset. Weather here has been good, course is going well, though i have been on a rather large bender after handing in my dissertation. Got lots of tracks and ideas waiting for your opinion when you get back. Hope now that your in Oz your gonna give surfing a go, and i'd like a picture of a real wild koala bear please.

Hey Dave,
I managed to read your entry in one sitting, and anyone who took your suggested two sittings must have the attention span of a mosquito or something.
I didn't realise you'd be in Australia so soon to be honest. Any plans to meet up with the G-Dogg? Anyways, it sounds like you're enjoying it and all. Please twist the knife vis a vis the cricket, we probably won't get bragging rights again for a while.
Regarding your Myspace 'Musings from Singapore' blog entry - it meandered along like an an A-level media studies/philosophy essay. Although, I am pleased you've tried to crystalise that whole 'These Ghosts' ethos, suddenly it all makes sense!!! Are we going to have any 'Musings from Oz'?
See you back in blighty.

It's not a parrot turkey! It's a blue wattled lesser hornbill, very rare and unique in that it only breeds twice in it's life and only on a red tide! Please pay attention to detail!
Why the silence! very little in the way of words. I liked the photo of you Dave, got a bit hairy since you went and the sun must have bleached your hair. I'll keep it short today and not so abusive.
Cheers

Dave, Dave, Dave!
I asked you to post a photo of yourself - not some lobster from the far east! You also need to brush up on your photographic skills a bit. The light must be in front of you not behind you!!
Lecture over. Glad to see you're have a gas, keep it up. Make sure the chinese lady gives you your undies back not hers! Imagine that ?!?
You last journal you mentioned a spider the size of a dinner plate - Dave what have we told you about exageration? I suppose it was about an inch or two across?! Please stop frightening the wild life and --- more photos please.
Cheers
Colin

Alright, I've been getting so much abuse for the underwear that I've invested in a bit of Laundry - gave my undies to a disgusted looking Chinese lady yesterday so hopefully theyt should be ready this afternoon!! If she nicks them then you, Tracey Mickleburgh, owe me seven pairs of boxers, three T-Shirts and a pair of shorts. I'll try and post some pictures of me, but I look so aweful and sweaty, as for photographing Gemma - I think I have more chance of visiting the moon!

Sorry that Siobhan has lowered the tone - at least you are not missing out on any of the dodgy conversations we are having here in lovely Sussex House.....(yes they're still happening!) I don't believe what Tom says about hanging out in Dereham, I've never seen any sunsets like that in exotic Dereham town! Looks really really nice, hope you're having a good one! Jo x

Hi Dave
One feels that one should get involved in the ongoing discussions about your underwear and Tracey now suggests that you go commando - obviously taking care not to scare the locals !
Your travels sound fantastic and really glad that your enjoying yourselves. You on a moped...hmm !!!!
Take Care

I'm still getting grief for unticked boxes on new entrant checklists, and apparently you "broke the internet" the other day. Your spirit lives on at Sussex House! And yes, more pictures of people, to prove you're not just hiding out in Dereham for months on end. Happy travellin'!
COLIN HOPE
Dave,
Tracey says EEeeuuuu. I'll leave the facial expressions up to your imagination. How about a few more photies of you and your better half rather than just pics of mountains in the distance and empty beaches. If only beaches at least make sure there are some other beauties sunbathing in the picture!!
Did you miss the bacon butty on Friday - so did I. Going to miss them when we go to Broadland.
Cheers, have a few for us.

Colin, tell Tracey I have 7 pairs of undies and have been going for fourteen days without washing them. Doing the old inside out and back to front trick, should be able to go 28 days without washing them! Got to save money and can't afford the laundry!!
