From Bangkok we went onto Ko Samet.....
One of the most amazing experiences was pulling up onto the island on speedboat, then paddeling through the ocean to the shore.... as we arrived we went to the nearest shack on the beach, Silver Sands. Ko Samet has got to be one, if not the most beautiful place i have ever seen in my life (vikki.) Our shack was not far from the sea and to wake up in the morning to the waves crashing at your feet is just undescribable. We have been on a trek through the island on our own little quadbike that cost just 800 baht, 16pounds, all day from 8am - 8am the next day! It was such a fun experience and one that we would definatly do again if we had the chance. We have seen some breathtaking scenery from all parts of the island.
We also went to a restaurant in the sea on stilts where we had to ring a bell from the shore and they would send a boat over to you. There wasnt anyone driving the boat... they sent it across on a pully and pulled us across. We had the best seats in the house sat right infront of the sea with a glass top table where we could see the fish underneath, with our feet dangelling below. It was great to watch the fish swarm round after throwing in some food for them. The food was fantastic.
We had dinner today for 215 baht (4 pounds 30) for the both of us and the food was outstanding. We have enjoyed chilling out on the beach, although the weather rained for 2 days (only for about an hour) it hasnt rained since and the weather has been lovely!
Also the accomdation is very good we have an aircon room shower, sink and toilet for just 550 baht (11 pounds) a night. We only have 1 more day left on the island now and dont want to leave! Tomorrow we are hoping to go water skiing and jet skiing if the waves aren't too choppy!!
