Last Friday, a few friends and I walked to the Wollongong lighthouse, and this is a picture of me on the way there! You can pretty much walk along the beach the whole time. It took about an hour to get there, and then we had a little lunch picnic once we got there. This past weekend was Gay/Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney. I went with a couple of friends and stayed with my friend Dan's friend who goes to the University of Sydney. It was a very interesting night... people chose to wear (or not to wear) VERY interesting outfits! I'm glad I went though cause it was a fun experience, but everyone was just crazy. It reminded me of Madison Halloween, except there were absolutely no cops and WAY more people and WAY more drinking. There were even like nine year old kids on the bus who were drunk and drinking beers. All in all, it was fun and it was fun to see all the crazy outfits and the floats in the parade. After the parade, me and my friends Abby, Erin and Chris met up with one of Whit's friends from UBC, Naeill and he took us all to a pub and got us a drink and just told us everywhere we need to go in Australia. He was a super sweet guy and gave us lots of advice as to where to go even within Sydney. So when I go to Sydney i'll meet up with him and then he'll be able to show me around instead of me being like Joey in London and having to step into the map in order to know where I am going. This week has been relaxing though. I went to the beach for six straight hours on Monday and read! It's so awesome being by the beach. Classes aren't too demanding yet, so I am taking advantage of that! This weekend I am heading to Fitzroy Falls (I think its like 45 min from Wollongong) for this mini Christian camp thing, so I am excited for that! I think I will meet a lot of people there and probably a lot of Australians, so that will be fun! Hey, I may even meet my six potential friends that I can give my six t-shirts too... now that would be just great!
